the evil are not really there, they have a problem with being present

An arrangement of work developed in conversation with PhD practice-based research at Western University. I was exploring the space of practice in and outside the studio, engaging a range of production spaces, and thinking through concepts of haunting, abstraction, and anxiety. Working with duration and composition through images, processes, and materials I became curious about the possibilities of making present what is hidden through it’s absence, through a “presencing of absence”. This project offered the opportunity to develop work outside medium specificity by exploring questions of how to proceed with and develop an expanded practice at angle to medium specificty.
